The second preliminary task

We have filmed with one of our friend which is same as us (the oversea student) and we filmed two version of the interview: one is Chinese which is the full version that all the interview questions are asked, and one is English that we only filmed one question. The reason of filming two version of the interview is that I was struggled to choose whether I would like to continue using Chinese when our participants are oversea students, or I would like to change and use English when we ask them to show that now we are in a foreign country.

Here are the videos:
The video above is the Chinese version.
And this is the English version.

After comparing these two videos, I think I prefer continue using Chinese in interview. This is because I found that students who just like me, when we are talking, we would like to involve some english words when we are talking in Chinese. I think the reason is because as we are now studying in the UK, when we learn a new vocabulary, we are more likely learn it in an english way, our thinking is more likely to be the English one, therefore, sometimes, it is hard to translate it back to Chinese. Also, some vocabularies are those very common and we use everyday, it is just a habbit that when we say Chinese to the others, we would like to say some English words as well. As a result, I think using Chinese version can show this habbit very clearly, so I would like to keep using Chinese when we are interviewing oversea students.
