The second preliminary task
We have filmed with one of our friend which is same as us (the oversea student) and we filmed two version of the interview: one is Chinese which is the full version that all the interview questions are asked, and one is English that we only filmed one question. The reason of filming two version of the interview is that I was struggled to choose whether I would like to continue using Chinese when our participants are oversea students, or I would like to change and use English when we ask them to show that now we are in a foreign country.
Here are the videos:
The video above is the Chinese version.
And this is the English version.
After comparing these two videos, I think I prefer continue using Chinese in interview. This is because I found that students who just like me, when we are talking, we would like to involve some english words when we are talking in Chinese. I think the reason is because as we are now studying in the UK, when we learn a new vocabulary, we are more likely learn it in an english way, our thinking is more likely to be the English one, therefore, sometimes, it is hard to translate it back to Chinese. Also, some vocabularies are those very common and we use everyday, it is just a habbit that when we say Chinese to the others, we would like to say some English words as well. As a result, I think using Chinese version can show this habbit very clearly, so I would like to keep using Chinese when we are interviewing oversea students.

The first preliminary task (interview testing in China)
This is the interview that is done in China by Melissa, and I edited it to put the voiceover and the video together. This is because just like what I said in the 'About the preliminary task' blog, the place that we chose for filming is too noisy, it is a cafe and there are too many people there, and in the original video the voice of the participant seems to be too small that it might not hear very clearly. As a result, the participant was filmming and recording at the same time by holding the phone for recording and Melissa was using camera to film him. Since both of them are in Chinese, I added the subtitles of translations (you need to click the subtitles to see it).
Here is the original video:
And here is the one that I have added the voiceover:
I think it would have some difference. The reason that we think it is a failed interview is because the background sound is too noisy and we are not sure if we could filmed with holding the phone (as it looks quite strange)

About the preliminary task
About the preliminary task, Melissa and I think about to do the interview testing. We decided to do two videos about the interview testing, one is that Melissa has done in summer holiday, which she interviewed her friend, but we think that one is more likely to be a failed one, as the location that we chose to film was too noisy(in China, the cafe is a lot more noisy), and we had to let the participant hold the phone and record the sound which seems to be quite strange and we are not sure if it would be okay. Another one is one we filmed with our friend in this school which was filmed in her room.
The reason why we choose to do interview testing is because it is quite important in our product. Also, as we are going to try the way of showing interviews in Eagle Huntress in our product, it would be great if we do this for the preliminary task and have a look.
